I am interested in the impact of memory loss on family history, personal identity and the landscapes – both internal and external – in which we live.
In my studio practice I focus on 2D work drawn from my own personal history and the impact of my Mother’s Alzheimer’s. Using family photographs and found materials as my starting point I use drawing, collage and painting to recreate imperfectly remembered places and events, often incorporating found materials and craft techniques.
Outside of the studio I clean plastic ocean pollution from beaches near my home. For the past few years I have stored the debris I pick up in recycled glass jars. I currently have over 100 of these jars.
